Admin (manual) returns are ideal for unusual requests — a return outside the customer's returns window, a customer who needs an extra label, or a free return you want to offer. You can also use one when a shipment arrives at your warehouse without a return having been created in the portal first.
Step 1: Click "Create Return"
Log in at business.atlast.co and click Create in the top navigation.
Step 2: Select the store and enter an order number
Choose the relevant store from the dropdown (if you only manage one, it's selected automatically). Enter an order reference — this can be a real order number or an internal one such as manual-return-001 — then click Manual Return.
Step 3: Add customer and item details
Fill in the customer's email, first name, and last name. Then set Items to return — the number of different products coming back, which adds a product line for each. For every item, enter the product title, quantity, price, weight, and reason for return (e.g. "Changed mind" or "Damaged").
Step 4: Select a shipping method
Choose one of the available return methods (for example, Royal Mail Returns 48, a drop-off service).
Step 5: Add and search the postcode
Enter the customer's postcode and use the search tool to find and select the correct address.
Step 6: Create the return
In the return summary on the right-hand sidebar, the + Create customer return button will now be active. Click it to create the return.
What happens next
Click View return details to jump to the Returns tab, where you'll see tracking details, postage costs, and the return label.
Tips
Use clear internal order references for manual returns.
Always validate the postcode to avoid failed collections.
Record the return reason thoroughly for internal tracking and reporting.
