How to Create a Manual Return via the Admin Dashboard

How to manually create customer returns and generate return labels from the At Last admin dashboard in a few easy steps.

Admin returns are perfect for dealing with more unusual customer requests, such as returns that are outside their returns window, customers who need an extra label, or offering a free return. You can even use an admin return if a shipment has arrived at your warehouse without being created first via our portal.

Step-by-Step Guide:

Step 1 – Click on “New Customer Return”

  • From your dashboard, click “New Customer Return” in the top navigation

Step 2 – Select the store and enter an order number

  • Choose the relevant store from the dropdown list

If you only manage one store, it will be selected automatically

  • Input an order reference (this can be a real order number or something like manual-return-001)

  • Click “Start Manual Return”

Step 4 – Add Customer and Item Details

Fill out the key return info:

  • Customer email

  • Customer first name

  • Customer last name

  • Items to return

    • This should indicate how many different products are being returned. The number you choose will trigger product lines to appear below.

  • Item details

    • Product title

    • Quantity: The quantity of items coming back

    • Price

    • Weight

    • Reason: reason for return (e.g. “Changed mind” or “Damaged”)

Step 5 – Select a Shipping Method

Choose one of the available return methods:

  • For example: Royal Mail - Returns 48. This is a Drop-Off service

Step 6 – Add and Search Postcode

  • Enter the customer’s postcode

  • Use the search tool to find and select the accurate address

Step 7 – Click “Create Customer Return”

  • Scroll up to the sidebar on the right side of your screen; you will see the return summary. You will also see the "+ Create customer return" button now colored in. Click the "+ Create customer return" button to create your return.

What Happens Next?

  • You can view the return you've just created by clicking the "View return details" button. This will redirect you to the Returns tab in the dashboard.

  • You’ll see tracking details, postage costs, and can access the return label
